Owerri West Prosperity Cup: Umuguma played a 1-1 draw against Oforola/Avu in the prosperity cup


 The shared prosperity cup that was donated by the Imo state house of assembly member, representing Owerri-West constituency Hon.Kanayo Onyemachi started in a glamour style as the ten political wards in Owerri -West slug it out in unity of the christmas and it was witnessed by the speaker of Imo state house of assembly Paul Emeziem with his deputy Chyna Iwuanyanwu, at the baptist school field.

In the first match between Umuguma versus Avu/Oforola ward, which witnessed alot of professionalism in the both teams.

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews, Avu/Oforola team scored in the first half of the game, while in the second half Umuguma team was given a penalty towards the end of the game, which brought to a 1-1 par at the end of the game. 

As both teams gave a good compliments to each other, but the referee and his lines men were blamed by the players for the poor officiating seen in the match, but refused to give a foul and continued the game.

But the players thanked the Hon.Kanayo Onyemachi for the good opportunity given to them as the hope that new talents will be discovered at the end of the competition as the aspire a greener pasture in their careers.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
