Politics: Imo state lost in the hands of enemies, Hope Uzodinma democracy day speech

 

Imo state governor Hope Uzodinma, celebrated Nigeria's democracy day, through a live executive interactive interview programme,on orient FM and which private radio stations existing in the state, linked up, at exactly 12.00 pm. 

The programme was organized by the ministry of information, in conjunction with the commissioner of information Kenneth Emelumba and the programme was anchored by Joyce Unaegbu of orient FM. 

Uzodinma informed Imolites, that the recent insecurity

situation, that have put the state in a catastrophe, by the Eastern security network, known as unknown gunmen, is been put under control and the culprits, have been arrested, as well confessed to have been involved in the mayhem, but investigation is on to unveil their sponsors.

He went further in details, over the insecurity problems, and dismissed a false information in the media, that the speculated killing of innocent citizens, in the state, whose corpses, have been deposited in federal medical centre Owerri, by the joint military task force, sent to maintain peace, that are yet to be identified, are totally not true, according to Hope Uzodinma,rather all you will see in the mortuary, are military personnel's killed by unknown gunmen and people who were killed by stray bullets, their dependents or their relations, were given the sum of five million naira, because Imo state does not have same internal revenue like river state, that is paying twenty million naira and described the compensation, as palliatives compensation. 

The Imo state governor Hope Uzodinma in confidence, said, no civil servant in the state is been, owned any salary, from the ISOPADEC to NULGE, who are acclaiming not been paid for the past, nine to fifteen months salary, he appealed that if any of them is not been paid, he should confront him, because the records are there with him. 

Uzodinma said he will spend sixty million naira to rehabilitate the old built schools and will spend thirty five million naira to build a new schools in the three hundred and five INEC wards, in Imo state and said no contract was given for the rebuild of schools by IMSUBEB and made his findings through the Imo state national bureau of statistics and appealed that if their is any contractor been owned over the contract, he should come forward with his papers and he insisted that most of the people that have papers for the contract is forged, because the observed that there is a change in government and all contractors cooking for our students, will no longer be cooked in their various personal homes of contractors, rather a kitchen  will be included in the master plan of newly built schools and old ones, a provision will be made available, which will be properly, be monitored by school supervisors, to avoid students contracting one illness or another, because of poor malnutrition or unhygienic environment . 

The Imo state governor addressed, the issue of disabled persons and informed them, that their is a special adviser in charge of them, and asked them to come and get enrolled in some programs, that are going on. 

Uzodinma was asked if he has been reaching out to former governors of Imo state, over the insecurity situation, from Ifeanyi Ararume, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, Emeka Ihedioha, which he confirmed that he has been calling them on phone, that his system of government is a shared prosperity government and he is sent by God to recover the lost glory of Imo state, but it does not stop him from probing anybody and in two days time, a committee of inquiry will be set up to carry out further investigation and he concluded by highlighting his achievement,s which was seen in the twenty seven local government areas in Imo state and the programme lasted for one hour, which he answered various questions from people of Imo state and appealed to them to help improve the security architecture of the state, by given information to security agencies and he promise to caution the joint security task force over molestation of Imo citizens by forcing them to raise their hands up or arresting them unlawfully and asked them to be security conscious of their environment and said not all who dress well or with tattoos that are yahoo boys or fraudsters, some are footballers and some are entertainers, but asked people to go along with their identity cards and nobody should be aggressive to security agencies, when the are been cross examined.
