Politics: No coverage for Orji Uzor Kalu, money launderers and internet fraudsters - Abdulrasheed Bawa

 



The chairman of economic and financial crime commission (EFCC) Abdulrasheed Bawa, have reassured Nigerians, that present administration of president Muhammadu Buhari, is out to fight corruption to a zero level, through establishment of the special control unit, that will, address the non financial designate units, like the car dealers, jewelries dealers,and real estate business developers, because politicians and their agents, have 
restrategize plans of laundering funds, through real estate business and a bio-metric data base of ownership of properties,will be carried out, to know the rightful owners of these properties. 

Bawa revealed that since his one hundred days of office, so many financial recoveries, have been made ranging from #6 billion naira, $161 million dollars, 13 thousand pounds,1,730 euros, which he refused to the names of the actual owners of the funds, and made an illustration with former minister of petroleum Diezani Madueke, who laundered the sum of $37 million dollars, into real estate. 

He went further in details to disclose that a total of 1,502 internet fraudsters, have been arrested from the month of January to June 2021 and about 800 are facing various financial charges in court. 

Bawa stamped his feet that the former governor of Abia state, and the present senator representing Aba-north in the national assembly, will be rearrigned in court again, to face another trial, by the anti-graft agency (EFCC)  despite the threats of his life, he is receiving from various angles and it is not a hurrah for the senator, despite his closeness to president Muhammadu Buhari and he is a member of the All Progressive congress party (APC) and jostling to contest for the presidency of Nigeria in 2023 general election.
