Imo state Local Government and Councillorship election fixed June











The long awaited Local Government and Councillorship  election have been announced by the Imo state Governor his Excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha said "the Local Government election will place in June 2018 and which will be conducted by the Imo state electoral commission (ISEC)". 

Owelle for past seven years of his tenure as the Governor of Imo state he had been using theTransition committee chairmen to run the Local Government administration affairs which have it's own statutory autonomy and allocations mapped out from the federal Government  but rather Owelle chose to create the fourth tier Government which is the Community Government Council that is run by the president generals and Kings of various communities.

Before the resumption of Owelle Rochas Okorocha administration his predecessor Governor Ikedi Ohakim conducted Local Government election but the chairmen was dissolved by Owelle Rochas Okorocha despite court affidavit.
