Imo state NSCDC volunteers Corps dissolved

The Imo state command of Nigeria Security & Civil Defense Corps volunteers have been dissolved by the commandant of NSCDC Stephen Lar and have issued an order to the officers to submit their uniforms as well other documents belonging to Nigeria Security & Civil Defense Corps head quarters at Okigwe road in Imo state.

According to the report received from one of the NSCDC officers who spoke in anonymity said the reason why the commandant of corps Stephen Lar withdrawn the officers was the Imo state Governor his excellency Owelle Rochas okorocha have refused to pay them salaries although at the Hero square in Owerri while addressing the officers he (Owelle) made a promise to them that he will reincorporate them with the ministry of interior.

But the officers involved are not recognized and documented by the federal government since 28th June 2003 the Nigeria Security & Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) received it's statutory legal backing by the National Assembly to function as one of the para-military organization under the federal ministry of interior and signed by the former president of Nigeria his excellency Dr.(Chief) Olusegun Obasanjo (GCFR).

It is very annoying that the state and federal government do not handle properly the challenges and welfare of military, para-military agencies in Nigeria despite their services rendered to there fatherland but they are holding unto faith that the will in future be reincorporated into the Nigeria Security & Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC).
