Imostate government spend forty million naira on L.G.A salaries-Hon.Chukwuemeka Ebere

Owerri municipal transition committee chairman honorable Chukwuemeka Ebere have called for the re-verification of the local government staff working under the council secretariat because it is estimated that Imo state government spend forty million naira for payment of salaries only for one local government in the twenty seven areas in Imo state and their internal generated revenu is less than their salaries and the local government allocation is not enough to execute projects for communities.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
