EX-Governor of Imo state Ikedi Ohakim inspect the sanitation exercise at state secretariat


Former Imo state Governor Ikedi Ohakim who was appointed the committee chairman on planning,sensitization and implementation was at the Imo state secretariat by 8.00 am to inspect the clean up exercise which have commenced. 


Although it was fixed on every last Friday and Saturday of every month, but went further to explained that the Friday clean up exercise is for the government owned offices and general markets, while Saturday is the general clean up exercise because it is the vision of the present administration of Imo state governor Emeka Ihedioha to work towards having a safe environment  



Ohakim who received great cheers from the civil servants demonstrated his leadership experience and thanked them for their maximum co-operation despite their tight schedule. 
Then concluded his inspection and said a recommendation will be sent to the governor over the abandoned government vehicles that are not in good working condition in the premises should be discarded because it is an environmental hazard.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
