Peace corps of Nigeria national commandant Amb.Dickson Akoh spotted in Imo State


Amb.(Dr.) Dickson Akoh peace corps of Nigeria national commandant held a meeting with Imo state commandant Ofor Eze and other high ranked state officers of the corps in Owerri . But the point of discussions in the meeting and details are yet to be disclosed.

Although the bill to establishment peace corps of Nigeria as a paramilitary organization, which was transmitted to the president through the National Assembly was not assented by Muhammadu Buhari on 27th February 2018 and his reasons are based on overlapping of functions which the department of state security service and Nigerian police force conspired as an advisory organs to thwart the establishment of Nigerian peace corps and accused Dickson Akoh for financial fraud which the NPC properties were ceased in Abuja. 

The national assembly have an option to muster two-third majority of it's members votes to override the bill of the peace corps of Nigeria which was not assented by the president, but it failed to scale through in chambers.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
