Eleven persons were crushed to death at Kwara state

 

A total of eleven persons,were confirmed dead in a car accident, that involved a Toyota Corolla and a commercial Toyota Hilace bus, that occurred along Jebba-Bode Saadu road in Moro local government area in Kwara state.

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews correspondent,through an eye witness report, who said that the accident occurred at exactly 4.00 PM on Sunday evening at Onipako community and the cause of the accident is due to wrong overtaking.

When the sector commander of the federal road safety corps (FRSC) Jonathan Owoade was contacted through a telephone conversion, he confirmed the incident and said a total of twenty six persons were involved in the accident and from the statistics given, twenty were males and six were females. 



He disclosed that the six females involved in the accident were all confirmed dead and fifteen others suffered various degree of fracture injuries, but they are been treated at Jebba medical centre and Emmanuel hospital Jebba, but the dead ones have been deposited at university of Ilorin teaching hospital mortuary (UITH)

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
