Nigeria upgrade to 5G network

 


Nigeria communications commission ( NCC) have reconfirmed the upgrade of it's digital space from 3G network to 5G network, which is the latest world standard

and it is close to 97% completion. 

The vice chairman of NCC Umar Danbatta, in his speech at the annual African Tech Alliance Forum (AFRITECH) 2021, said it is a paradigm shit in communication, to increase our network connectivity requirements, as a result of an unprecedented  upsurge in internet traffic, by the use of a plethora of web applications, and their plans to auction spectrum in 3.5 gigahertz band to operators for deployment of 5G network in Nigeria and the national assembly have briefed the extent work done so far and a committee have been set up, which they have developed an information of memorandum, which have already been published for inputs and comments from all industry stakeholders, prior to the 5G network deployment plan that is developed, since the federal government have secured the approval. 



NCC chairman was represented at the event by the director spectrum administration at the commission, Engineer Oluwatoyin Asaju and director public affairs Dr.Ikechukwu Adinde 




The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has confirmed it is 97% ready for the implementation of 5G deployment in the country.
