Violence erupt at APC state congress in Ogun

 

All Progressive Congress party (APC) conducted it's state congress election in Ogun state, and according to the report received by the Drizzlersnews correspondent, who said that the event took place at  MKO Abiola stadium, with well beefed up good tight security in the arena. 



But delegates from twenty local government areas in three senatorial districts of the state, were participating in the congress, while about one hundred aspirants were contesting for the vacant official positions of the party, or with an option of adopting an expected consensus guidelines for the election. 

Before the commencement of the election, there were indications of power tussle between senator Ibikunle Amosun and governor Dapo Abiodun led factions, but it was discovered that the senator Ibikunle Amosun led group had set up,it's electoral state congress venue at the palace ground of Alake of Ake in Abeokuta, rather than the accepted MKO Abiola stadium, but it was disrupted with a sporadical shooting by a group of unknown tugs, as the electorates in the palace ran for their lives and the tension was later put under control and the next venue of MKO Abiola stadium was successful as well peaceful and the elected candidates are yet to be announced.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
