Sultan of Sokoto cancel Ramadan lectures over COVID-19





The sultan of sokoto Muhammadu Sa'ad Abubakar have officially announced the cancellation of Ramadan lectures and congregational gathering due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

He advised muslims to observe the ethics of stopping the spread of coronavirus by washing their hands regularly, observe social distance, apply hand sanitizers, he advised them to avoid body contacts and concluded that Ramadan prayers should be conducted at home and pray that peace returns to the society.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
