Security have been beefed up in Awawom Owerri n'chi-ise

The new executives of Amawom youth organization in Owerri n'chi-ise autonomous community, led by the president of the organization Elvis Uzoma Nnadi and his vice president Christian Obioma Opara with other executives, have revived the vigilante security guards in the community. 

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews, the vigilante security guards have been given military training and equipped with ammunition  which have been registered with a licence and issued by the Nigerian police force, but their monthly salary payment have been increased. 

Many of the guards are seen on street patrol at night from 9.00 pm with the supervision of the police, as robbery incident been observed before in the community have been put on strict control.     

Amawom is one of the five communities that made up Owerri n'chi-ise autonomous community, which is under Ikenegbu ward according to INEC map, because it is the nearest to the well known Ekeonunwa market and demolished Eke Ukwu Owerri market under Owelle Rochas Okorocha's administration. 

It is where the Njemanze royal palace is until date, but according to history Eke Ukwu Owerre market, was formerly known or called at that time as Ogwoommabiri Owerre market and it is a slave market centre during British colonial masters era, for selling of salves and the market usually sales on Eke day, which later in future changed to daily market before it was demolished. 

All government acquired lands where some parastals and ministries were established,  90% of it belongs to Amawom, these include Shell camp, prisons, government house, some part of Ikenegbu, Area K in world bank and the new government house at new Owerr.
