Imo State pensioners under go marathon verification exercise






Imo state pensioners are under going another verification exercise in the 27 Local Government Area of Imo state,despite the series of such exercise been carried out last year by Imo state Government and their health status as well the attained age of this pensioners are not considered with the current economic financial crisis in the country, yet nothing has been done for the senior retired citizens of Nigeria.

 According to the report received from one of the pensioners who spoke in anonymity said the verification exercise is confirmed to be going on in the different wards and it is been verified in the presence of the state development council appointee and the royal highness of that community. It is been calculated based on 30% been approved by the Imo state Governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha and only one month will be paid.

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
