Owerri n'ichi -ise municipal youths clash with Ohaji Militants at Douglas road in Owerri
Owerri n'ichi-ise youths on Tuesday 15th of May 2018 at exactly 5.00 PM in the evening clashed with Ohaji militants at Douglas road by school road in Owerri municipality in Imo state as market sellers and customers ran for their lives because of the exchange of gun shots between them no death causalities were recorded except minor injuries.
The Owerri n'ichi-ise youths chased the Ohaji militants to Ama JK junction by Assumpta Avenue (warehouse) and out of anger destroyed the aluminum barricade of the renamed Eke-Ukwu Owerri market to Somoto mall by Imo state protesting by setting tyres and other rubber items on fire asking the Imo state governor his excellency Owelle Rochas Okorocha to respect the court order and stop work at the eke-ukwu owerri market site before the were dispersed by mobile policemen with tear gas and nobody was arrested.
According the report received from one of the Owerri n'ichi-ise youth protesters who spoke in anonymity said the ohaji militants used by the Imo state government to combat illegal street trading in Douglas road are no longer doing their jobs again rather they are stealing phones, laptops from shop owners and the burnt petty traders tables with their goods calling on the Imo state government to withdraw them from Owerri n'ichi-ise autonomous community and the entire Municipality because with the police the people must surely obey them and not militants.
