Bandits killed former army provost marshall

 

Unknown gunmen yesterday attacked and killed an army former provost marshall, identified as Hassan Ahmed, who rose to the position of a major general, while on transit along Lokoja -Abuja express road. 

According to the report received by the Drizzlersnews, the demise of the retired officer, was announced by the chief of army staff, Lt.Gen.Faruk Yahaya and a delegated representative of the Nigerian army, led by major general Anthony Omozoje, was sent to condole with the family of late Hassan Ahmed, from the army head quarters, including the NAOWA national deputy president Mrs.Stella Omozoje and the remain of the deceased senior officer Hassan Ahmed will be laid to eternal rest at Lungi barracks cemetery on Friday 16TH July, by 10.00 am .

Owu cultural festival marked at umu-Duru Ifakala in Mbaitoli L.G.A of Imo state

Owu cultural festival is been celebrated by few communities in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo state every June to August yearly only men that are of age are allowed to do the rituals of i wa ukwu na ekwe before you are allowed to participate in the dance activity and has it's own unique dance step with two legs jumping style.  It is not marked on Nkwo market day according to the report gathered no significance or special dish been prepared for the celebration in every house hold as it is in other places in Igboland where festivals are marked.
